The variety, not the brand, was recommended by a friend. Five stars is given with the caveat that other brands were not tried for comparison. The Choice Organic Russian Caravan blend seems to be the only such blend easily available in tea bags. The unit cost of the product is an excellent value here on amazon, compared to other sellers’ offers.
The tea is a bit more delicate than one might expect, based on description. Steeping five minutes is recommended, for a full-flavored experience. The flavor is delightful — a good black tea, but with a distinctive smoky quality.

I’ve tried a lot of Russian Caravan and I’m still looking for some made by Twinings. I hear that they still make it in Australia. Anyway, this is a far cry from the Twinings Russian Caravan . Too heavy on the lapsang souchon smoky flavor. The whole kitchen smells like it’s on fire when you brew this cup. It’s OK, but I’ll be looking for someone else’s Russian caravan brew next time.

This is great tea. It tastes exactly like the tea that Aveda makes, but this stuff is actually affordable. It’s certified organic (not that it’s worth anything – it’s not governmentally regulated really), but this stuff is amazing.
It has a stronger peppermint smell than the Aveda tea but this stuff tastes just like it.
If you want exotic tea without caffeine THIS is the tea you must try. It’s amazing.

Very similar to Aveda tea, but a little more peppermint flavor. Regardless, I love this tea and buy it in the 6 pack.
